Our objectives

Here at We Are Spirits, our objectives are simple. We want to provide customers with a way to enjoy drinking alcohol, knowing the provenance of the ingredients, whilst feeling guilt free about how their consumption habits are affecting the planet.

Making environmentally-conscious decisions doesn’t have to break the bank. We are committed to providing people with an affordable way to make greener choices.  Our spirits are of high quality whilst remaining low priced.

We have perfected a state-of-the-art method in which considers every step of the process to maximise sustainability and minimise waste; from packaging to distillation to distribution, the future is at the heart of everything we do.

Sustainability

We have a vision for the future in which companies prioritise sustainability over profit. As climate change continues to cause drastic effects on the environment, we believe we can lead the way in creating a completely sustainable business model.

While we continue to hope for and put pressure on governments to pass legislation which will tackle the climate crisis head on, we feel it is just as vital for businesses to take accountability for their role in carbon output and production of waste. We hope to show that a long term, environmentally-conscious business model for hospitality services is tenable.

How we put this into practice:

We believe that our progressive business design, informed by experts with large amounts of experience in the green hospitality sector, will inspire other companies to follow suit. But you might be wondering…how are we able to achieve this?

Well, at the core of our process we are incorporating a philosophy of zero waste: our alcoholic and non-alcoholic spirits are distilled or compounded using the abundance of wonky or unused fruits that are unsuitable for sale in stores. Our ingredients are also organic, using high strength organic grain neutral spirits.

Not only are our ingredients ethically sourced, our process environmentally-friendly, but moreover our containers that carry our spirits are eco-friendly. We are innovating our bottles and packaging for both our retail and wholesale customers; by creating refillable pouches or large stainless steel containers, you are able to buy, use and re-use, again and again.

We are committed to following sustainable working practices:

• Cups at events and markets are compostable or edible
• Straws provided are made of wheat
• Bottled cocktails are sold in reusable glass bottles (similar to a reusable water bottle) and reusable jars
• Cocktails bikes are electric powered
• We are partnering with XEROE to use their zero-emission bike delivery service for next day deliveries across London and Bristol
• Coffee grinding waste is donated to local farms
• Using our own soda makers and ice makers to ensure we minimise our plastic use
• Distill Vodka, Gin and liqueurs in-house
• Sourcing organic ingredients and alcohol wherever possible
• Cleaning to be carried out using eco-products and using tree-free paper and reusable cloths only
• Using 12V solar energy solutions to power lights and small appliances.
• Using rainwater collection and filtration solutions for the water needed in gardening and cleaning
• Distilling and cooking on bio-ethanol fuelled stoves
• Growing herbs at our own indoor vertical farms
• Supporting green projects by donating >2% of sales

Over shorter distances our cocktail bikes are operated purely under manpower or assisted by electric batteries, and our bikes will have their own solar panels to enable them to be charged while they work. For longer journeys we are looking to invest in electric vehicles to minimise carbon emissions. We also plan to donate a percentage of our profits to charities which protect UK habitats and prevent deforestation around the world.
